Here we are on day 3 of our 89-day wellness challenge! That means you have plenty of time to work on your healthy lifestyle, and to rack up points toward the one-year membership at Highland Fitness Center! In May, you will be placed in that drawing once for every 100 points you earn. In the meantime, as a registered participant you are eligible for weekly prize drawings!

Drawings:
Early registration drawings were held on January 28 and earlier today we drew for the 16-week weight loss program from Physician's Weight Loss Center!

Program Kick-Off:
Our official kick-off was held on Monday night. At least one team was formed and some health tips were shared between participants! Tammy's health tip, eat celery - it helps lower cholesterol, and from Paula, brush your teeth earlier in the evening - for some of us, it sends a message that we're done eating for the day! It's worth a try!

Earning Points:
Upcoming workshops and activities are listed below. You will earn points for each of those activities you participate in. Other ways to earn points are listed on your Record Form. (Still need a form? Download it: www.activeandalive.com) They include:

Exercise/workout = 2 points/20 minute session
Drink 64 oz. of water = 1 point/day
Eat 4 servings of fruits/vegetables = 1 point/day
Eat breakfast = 1 point/day
Wear your seat belt each time you get in the car = 1 point/day
Get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep = 1 point/day


At the end of the challenge, you will receive additional points for reducing your weight, 10 hours of volunteer work and for setting and meeting a goal during the challenge period!
